Yesterday I was ambushed by the theme of beauty. During our church worship service, the lyrics of Gungor’s “Beautiful Things” rang in my soul. I was captured by the way God makes all things beautiful. (By the way, it’s an amazing God-honoring worship song.) Later in the day, I sat outside watching the trees dance in the wind, squirrels scamper through the woods, birds soar with ease and clouds paint beautiful scenes in the sky. Beautiful!
God made everything beautiful…everything. Even the most difficult teenagers, God made beautiful. Trapped, hopeless, helpless, searching….yet beautiful. While sitting outside, enjoying the beauty of creation, I thought through the thousands of teenagers I’ve had the privilege of connecting with over the years. Some were considered by others to be beautiful while others were rejected, outcast, labeled ugly and unwanted. Yet, all are beautiful…created by a God who radiates beauty with every breath.
Although my wife may disagree, even feet can be beautiful. All throughout the United States, high school students are showing off their beautiful feet. As they give the gift of The Life Book to their classmates during school, they are spreading the good news. And God’s Word is very clear about those who share the good news…..
“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:15)
Beautiful!
