Are We Crazy?

Is it crazy to think that a little book could change the world?

For some, the idea of students throughout the United States handing out a little book in their schools is not enough to bring real and lasting change to the world.  For some, text on a page is too simple, too plain to have any serious impact on the lives of today’s students.  Some say today’s generation needs more than a simple message in a little book to create a wave of transformation.

Call me crazy, but I disagree.  I guess if students were simply giving their classmates another book, another tool, another resource, that could be true.  But, they are handing out God’s Word.  Romans 1:16 says that God’s Word is “the power of God for the salvation of all who believe…”  To minimize God’s Word, reducing it to a helpful tool or just another resource is to dismiss the reality of its power to convict of sin, draw to Christ, alter eternal destinies, create transformation, renew minds, rebuild lives, restore hope and reclaim our intended relationship with God.  God’s Word on a page radiates more power than anything man could ever create.

For thousands of years, God has chosen to use the foolishness of words on a page to radically and eternally transform lives.  Call us crazy, but we believe He will continue to use His Word, as The Life Book is given to every student in every high school, in a way that surpasses our wildest hopes and craziest dreams.

First century religious leaders also thought it was crazy to believe a peasant preacher could somehow be God.  Count me among the crazies!  I love it when God uses the simple to confound the wise. (1 Corinthians 1:25-30)

It has an impact even if only 1 person’s life is changed! That’s pretty cool to think about.

Words on a page don’t disappear as quickly as spoken words. There is potential for the Life Book to be found years later by someone. We will never really know the impact that it has had on this generation of students!
